Home >NSW Learning Track

NSWLearning is an asynchronous approach to online Christian education that was established in 1999. It is asynchronous in that it does not have live online teaching. Learning material for each lesson is available on our learning portal / virtual learning environment (VLE) and can be studied at each child's own pace, providing the overall courses are completed on time. Each course is led by a subject specialist tutor, who can can be contacted by email for advice and who marks and returns student assessments.

There is a lot of flexibility in course options with NSWLearning, so you can absolutely select 4 or 5 subjects on this track.

Additional Information

Using our web-based virtual learning environment and conventional email, our tutors develop relationships with our students wherever in the world they are located. Our tutors act as facilitators, rather than teachers, providing tutorial support, encouraging group discussion and assessing students' assignments. Student progress is monitored throughout the year and near the end of Term Three, tutors write a report on each student's overall progress during the year. Lessons and assignments are posted in courses on our learning platform, where students can download them and work at times to suit themselves. Students complete work using textbooks, Britannica Online Student Edition and other educational resources. Work is returned to tutors electronically for marking and comment. At the heart of NSWLearning is an asynchronous learning model that effectively returns control for learning to the student and their family. This means that tutor-student interaction does not take place in real time.

Try the IOS model if you require live teaching.
