Who we're looking for

We are a Christian worldview online school, committed to academic excellence and Christian community. We understand the importance of having excellent mentors and role models in student's lives that can teach but also help and guide students in their faith and academic journey.

Immanuel Online School confesses the Basis of Faith of the Evangelical Alliance (UK) and the ancient creeds of the Christian Church.

Above all, we are looking for committed Christian tutors who are also excellent in their area of specialism—with a relevant degree (ideally in their subject) and experience in teaching up to GCSE level. Experience in teaching the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus is a bonus.

We are looking for professionals with an excellent, friendly, and lively online manner, and the ability to use technology efficiently and effectively. This is important to us.

As a member of the Immanuel Online School team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our students while contributing to our mission of providing a Christ-centred education that nurtures spiritual, intellectual, and emotional growth. We are passionate about equipping students with both academic knowledge and a strong foundation in Christian faith.

What we're particularly interested in

We are particularly interested in tutors who:

  • Have a PGCE/QTS or equivalent qualification
  • Hold a degree or have experience in the subject area
  • Have experience teaching Cambridge IGCSEs for KS4 or the national curriculum for KS3
  • Are passionate about working in an online learning environment and have good general technical skills

We are seeking tutors who are committed Bible-believing Christians, able to incorporate Christian values into their teaching and inspire students to grow in both knowledge and faith.

The tutor role

Tutors are given access to our learning portal and existing courses—with everything created for you: lessons, tests, and all provision for tutorials. We do expect tutors to use their specialist knowledge to curate and refine their courses week by week as the year goes on, ensuring their courses are error-free and of a high quality. This is important to us: we want tutors who care about excellence and quality.

We want tutors who care about students and for whom teaching is a vocation and a mission. We want tutors who are willing to be involved in community and who care about what we are doing.
